MORGANTOWN, W.Va.
(July 18, 2014) - MX Sports announced today that Bell Helmets, an industry
leader in innovative head protection, is the official helmet of the 2014 Rocky
Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by
AMSOIL. Bell will be on-site throughout the July 27 - Aug. 2 National
Championship in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., showcasing and demonstrating their
newly developed custom-fit program with the Bell Moto-9 helmet, in addition to
sponsoring the Bell Helmet Holeshot Award at the 2014 National Championship.
Bell's
custom-fitting demonstrations allow riders to experience the company's
break-through head scanning system, which is a first of its kind for the
industry. Each Bell Moto-9 helmet is customized to the unique shape and
dimensions of the rider's head and since the internal shape of the helmet is a
direct offset of the rider's head; there are no uncomfortable pressure points
or hot spots.
In
addition to the custom-fit head scanning demonstrations, Bell is providing
nearly $11,000 in holeshot awards to amateur racers throughout the week. The
Bell Helmet Holeshot Award offers up a $100 gift certificate to BellHelmets.com to each rider who gets the
holeshot in 108 gate drops taking place at the National Championship.
"We
love the excitement and competition that surrounds Loretta Lynn's," said
Chris Sackett, Vice President Bell Helmets. "We're thrilled to have the
opportunity to meet and talk with the sport's future stars about the importance
of head protection."
Bell will
have the custom-fit Sprinter Van set up in Sponsor Village all week long,
inviting racers and their families to stop by and demo its innovative head
scanning system and experience the comfort of the Moto-9 Carbon helmet first
hand.
"Bell
Helmets joined the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta
Lynn's last year and we're very pleased that they have stepped up to be an even
bigger part of the National in 2014 and beyond," said MX Sports Director,
Tim Cotter. "The innovative technology that Bell brings to the table is
invaluable and we're looking forward to sharing that cutting-edge knowledge
with the word's top amateur motocross racers."
Following
their first-ever custom-fit program at the 2013 World SuperBike Championship at
Laguna Seca, Bell has since taken their custom-fit process on tour to events
all across the country, including the Austin and Indy MotoGP events, as well as
the AIM Expo, IMS Shows and more.
