Budd's Creek Privateer Payout

The 2014 Budds Creek Motocross Pro National marks the tenth consecutive year that the Southern Maryland Dirt Riders Club has awarded its Privateer Award to the struggling working class heroes of our sport.
In 2006, the award was renamed in honor of Kevin Crine, a local Southern Maryland privateer who won the hearts of many during his time on and off the track. Kevin lost his life in a tragic car accident, but his spirit lives on in our motocross community as we recognize top performing privateers each year with the Kevin Crine Memorial Privateer Award.
This year the SMDR club will award one 250 Class racer and one 450 Class racer $1,000 each presented on stage by John Crine (Kevin’s father). The club recognizes and wishes to support the concept of the struggling privateer trying to make a living while following the dream of factory stardom.
Past recipients of the award include Gavin Gracyk, Kyle Mace, Ben Ritter, Corey Green, Jacob Marsack, and Sean Borkenhagen just to name a few. The money was generously donated by SMDR members at our monthly club meetings and riding functions. We want to give true privateers a little extra incentive to do well at the 2014 Budds Creek Motocross Pro National on July 12.
