Final Anaheim Race Goes PINK for a Cure
AURORA, Ill. (February 10, 2010) – As the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season continues to roll with what is shaping up to be one of the most competitive seasons ever, Feld Motor SportsSM and Angels Baseball are teaming up for the final Anaheim race of the season this Saturday in support of finding a cure for breast cancer. The first-ever PINK supercross race will help fund the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure 60-mile walk. There will be a press conference tomorrow at Noon inside the Diamond Club inside Angel Stadium to discuss this inaugural event.
Cancer survivor Shasta Johnson and Team Shasta will join thousands of other dedicated women and men for the San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. The three-day, 60-mile walk benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure® requires months of physical and financial preparation, challenge and triumph. Participants commit to raising $2,300 in order to participate and follow a four to sixth month physical training program.
Monster Energy Supercross will undergo a PINK theme during its final race from Angel Stadium on Saturday as riders, teams will show their support by showcasing various elements of pink in what will be a truly unique event. Teams like Muscle Milk/Toyota/ JGR Yamaha, Hart and Huntington and MotoConcepts will stand out thanks to their support for the cause while several other riders and teams plan on getting into the spirit as well. Fans are also encouraged to join the fight and wear something pink to the Anaheim event.

The sport of supercross and its fans recognize the need for charitable involvement and Saturday will be a showcase of the strength in the racing industry.

Tonight on DMXS Radio
Factory Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey made the most of his eventful night in San Francisco and maintains a comfortable cushion in the championship battle. With the top two contenders out, the potent rookie finds himself as the unlikely target for the field after four rounds are now in the books. It has been a while since a rookie has so fully prepared for the step up to the big bikes and Ryan made it clear at the season opener that he’s ready for the fight.
Geico Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard won his first race of the year and is looking to build on that momentum in hopes of making a legitimate run at Jake Weimer in the second half of the AMA Supercross West Lites series. Trey has always been a popular guest with the listeners on our show for his quirky sense of humor and honesty so we hope he brings his good stuff tonight.
There have been some true characters in our sport over the years and few as infamous in the South as Matt “Stalker” Walker. The fiery competitor was never lacking in controversy or heart throughout his career and made a few headlines in his day. Even though he is no longer stalking the competition, Matt is still heavily involved in our sport as a coach and trainer. We will catch up with our southern neighbor tonight and hear the latest on his riders and his take on the season so far.
Monster Energy Supercross is going pink for Anaheim 3 and is teaming up with the Susan G. Komen For The Cure to help raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. Our good friend Shasta Johnson is spearheading this and will be on tonight to give us all the details. She will also be joining thousands of dedicated men and women for the San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day walk to further the effort. Please make plans to wear pink at Anaheim 3 and check out www.komen.org to find ways to get involved!

Kawasaki will go pink for Breast Cancer Awareness on February 13th.
Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. today announced plans to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research and the Susan G. Komen For The Cure® organization. The company will teach non-riders to ride motorcycles during a 24-hour dirt bike rider training marathon on the eve of the February 13 Monster Energy® Supercross race in Anaheim, Calif.
The Anaheim event, round six of the 2010 Monster Energy Supercross Series, will feature a pink motif throughout the program. Riders and teams will wear pink and the motorcycles will also carry the color to draw more attention to breast cancer awareness.
To help promote the cause, Kawasaki will host five training schools during a 24-hour period on Friday, February 12. The schools, which are free to the public with a donation to breast cancer research, are four-hour introductory courses that will be held at Kawasaki's U.S. headquarters in Irvine, Calif. The dirt bike course is an ideal way for beginners to learn the fundamentals of off-road riding and basic two-wheeled dynamics. Throughout the day, professional instructors will teach fundamentals, while Kawasaki celebrity guests will be on hand to cheer on the new riders - and maybe even offer a riding tip or two.
Participants not only have the opportunity to learn to ride and help fight breast cancer, they will also receive an amazing array of freebies, including a ticket to the Anaheim Supercross the next day, a track walk and an exclusive tour of the Monster Energy Kawasaki pit area.
"Everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer," said Jan Plessner, Kawasaki's Public Relations Manager. "We wanted to do something unique to show Kawasaki support and at the same time, provide a large-scale and fun opportunity for new riders to get trained."
