2011 National Enduro Series Schedule

Courtesy of AMA/NEPG
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) announced today the schedule for the 2011 AMA Racing Rekluse National Enduro Championship Series, presented by Moose Racing. The 2011 season will feature 10 rounds of premier off-road racing and showcase a range of skill-, age- and displacement-based classes.

"The AMA Racing Rekluse National Enduro Championship Series, presented by Moose Racing, is coming off another strong season in 2010," said AMA Director of Racing Joe Bromley. "Working with the National Enduro Promotions Group (NEPG), we've made some key improvements to the series that have led to some of the highest participation in the history of the championship. We're looking forward to more improvement in 2011."

The AMA Racing National Enduro Championship dates to the founding of the AMA in 1924. It is one of the longest-running national motorsports championships in the world and today is one of the premier off-road racing series in the country. It is designed to provide a competitive landscape for all levels of riders, from amateur competitors to the country's fastest enduro racers.

"The NEPG would like to give our thanks to all of the clubs that have hosted an AMA Rekluse National Enduro," said the NEPG's Alan Randt. "The success of the series would not be possible without their hard work and dedication to the sport. We would also like to welcome five new clubs to the 2011 series, two of which are hosting their first ever National."

Although each year features historical favorites, such as the Jack Pine Enduro in Moorestown, Mich., the AMA Racing National Enduro Championship Series often races in new locations each year. The new venues on the 2011 schedule include Salley, S.C.; Forest Hill, La.; Bismark, Ark.; Cross Fork, Pa.; and Chandlersville, Ohio. The new clubs are Ohio's Zanesville Trail Riders and the Arkansas Dirt Riders.

This year's championship will begin on Feb. 27 in Salley, S.C. The 10-round championship will wrap on Oct. 1 in Matthews, Ind. The full schedule is below. For updates, see AMARacing.com and NationalEnduro.com.

Rider Down Foundation at MXON

Lakewood, CO (Sept 24-26, 2010): RedBull FIM 2010 MX of Nations, Thunder
Valley Motocross Park - The racing was exciting, the best of the best were
there, the crowds were huge and Team USA did not disappoint. The excitement
continued all weekend in between the racing. The fans swarmed the pits and
vendor areas with one of the more popular attractions being the RiderDown
Foundation tent. Here, a dozen volunteers were manning the booths on a
number of fronts.

A big winner with riders and race fans alike at RiderDown's booth was the
Concept 2 rowing challenge. One of Concept 2's popular rowing machines was
signed by Team USA and decked out in Team USA graphics produced by
139designs.com. Fans competed to see who could get the fastest 500 meter
time. Winners received generous gift certificates from S.I.C.A.S.S. Racing
and their choice of RiderDown gear. In addition, all participants received
a gift for their efforts.

Ron Rennke of Grand Junction, CO supplied a beautifully restored 1982 KTM
495 for a silent auction. Legends like Donnie Hanson, Gary Bailey, Danny
LaPorte and Chuck Sun stopped by to check it out and sign this iconic KTM.
The winner of the bike was Doug Williams of Las Vegas, NV.

Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner, Sarah Schmidt, of Evergreen, CO
donated her time and expertise. The on-going line of race fans needing that
sore shoulder, back or neck adjusted became a testament to her healing
touch.

Thunder Valley and David Clabaugh were big supporters of RiderDown as well.
As the track owner, David has been a very dedicated RiderDown supporter ever
since the first Outdoor National held at his track in CO. He has always
made it a point to make sure there was a place for RiderDown at all of his
events and this year they went a step further. The crew held their own
silent auction with autographed race gear and event souvenirs from
competitors around the world to benefit RDF. During the opening ceremony a
check for $1000 was presented to the RiderDown Foundation.

About RiderDown Foundation: With a nationwide network of volunteers ready to
lend support and assistance to injured riders, RiderDown is actively giving
back to the amateur off road community. As a non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable
organization, RiderDown has been delivering on its mission of "Helping
Riders Up" since 2005. Dedicated to helping responsible off-road
motorcyclists and ATV racers who have been injured, proceeds are used to
provide assistance to riders and their families when faced with medical
expenses and related issues. In cooperation with their partners in the
field of medical bill review, RDF has saved injured riders thousands of
dollars on excessive and/or unnecessary medical charges. RiderDown Angels
visit injured riders in the hospital and at home, offering a friendly voice
during difficult times. To find out more about RiderDown and ways you can

2011 Legends And Heroes Tour News

Courtesy of Legends and Heroes Tour
October 3, 2010 - Merced, CA: The Professor and Motocross Champion, Gary Bailey, and Managing Partner, Alex Moroz, of the Legends & Heroes Tour announced today a partnership to develop a true rolling museum of the rich history of American Motocross for the 2011 season. The Legends & Heroes Tour has been on the road the past 2 years displaying classic motocross iron and presenting a time line of motocross history to the fans. Most recently, the tour has been present at the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship series events, the USGP at Glen Helen Raceway, the  Monster Energy AMA Supercross, and FIM World Championship series, the FIM Motocross of Nations, and the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid Ohio. The current modular display will be redesigned to incorporate a tangible 40 foot 5th wheel specifically designed to carry the most dynamic motocross and supercross display around the country. The new display will travel to the 2011 Pro Supercross series, the Pro Outdoor nationals, the USGP and other select events.

"This is an exciting time for us and we are excited with this partnership with Mr. Bailey.  We see this as a catalyst to bring our rich history to the masses in a professional presentation and share not only with the fans but the general public on our rich history" states Alex Moroz, Managing Partner of the Legends and Heroes Tour.

Professor Gary Bailey states "I am so excited about being able to donate my 5th wheel trailer to the Legends & Heroes Project.  I think it is time to get the big top on the road.  For so long I have tried to save some of my old stuff just so my kids would have it.  I feel that the motocross history is important and I want my grandkids and great grandkids to know what it was like, back in the day.  What made me stop and think about all the history of motorcycles and motocross was that I don’t have many things on my grandfather. He won a lot of races like cross country, board track, and long distant races. I think it would be cool if I knew more about that history, so I don’t want this part we know to get lost"".

"Not only do I have a chance to help with this trailer, but also for me the most exciting thing is that I get to partner up with Alex Moroz to help get the show on the road. And I hope to get to as many events as possible to help make this thing big.  I want the young and the old to see and enjoy the bikes and the Legend & heroes that got this all started.   Save our history" Bailey concludes.

Stay tuned to future updates and photos coming your way soon!

About the Tour
The Legends & Heroes Motocross Tour is a professional historical display and time-line of Americas greatest motorsport.

The tour includes the machines and the champs of Motocross. The project was conceived by a dedicated group of Motocross Enthusiasts who, over the years, have discovered the value of the rich 40+ years of Motocross legacy and its impact on the American motorsports history. "The dedication and passion of the sport has brought the Legends & Heroes Motocross Tour to the next level of sharing this legacy, the history of the machines and men, as well as the women of Motocross. The history of the Classic Iron and its' champions is a dynamic model ever changing. We see this rich history as a great learning lab for all ages" according to Alex Moroz the tours managing partner.

Windham Signs 2 Year Contract Extension

Courtesy of Geico Powersports Racing
CORONA, Calif. -- Supercross and Motocross rider Kevin Windham has signed a two-year extension to stay with the GEICO Powersports Honda race team, owned by Factory Connection founder Rick "Ziggy" Zielfelder, Jeff Majkrzak, and Mike Grondahl.

"It's already been a wild off season with all the rumors going around of where riders are going so it's cool to get this deal done now," Windham said. "I'm really happy to be staying with this team. It's home. These were the guys that gave me a second chance when I came back from my broken femur in 2002 and it just feels right to stay here.

"For this team to step up and give me a two-year deal is special. We won't have to sweat going through negotiations next year. Now we're looking at a place where I'm going to end my career. I couldn't be with a better group of guys."

The 32-year-old crowd favorite from Centerville, Miss., is coming off an impressive 2010 campaign where he finished as runner-up to the Supercross championship with two wins. Additionally, Windham scored an overall race win in the Motocross series filling in for injured Honda rider Davi Millsaps.

"It's funny because there's talk of my age and of my pending retirement but in many ways I feel like there are parts of my riding where I'm just reaching my prime," Windham said. "I feel great on the bike and we showed this year we could win. The entire team had great success, with Trey (Canard) winning the 250cc championship in Motocross, and everyone else scoring wins. We put forth a great team effort and that's what it takes.

"I don't think my riding is in decline in any way. I fully expect us to be contenders next year. I'm looking forward to the challenges. We're a very tight family and I feel like this is the best team I've ever been with. They're always there for the riders, to help us excel and make us better, and that's a good feeling.

"GEICO Powersports also has been a key to our success. They are a great company to ride for and they understand the sport so well."

Windham will ride the team's lone 450cc entry, which will once again be flanked by four 250cc rides. Majkrzak says having Windham as his team's leader is a perfect scenario for a multitude of reasons.

"K-Dub's an excellent rider, probably the smoothest guy many of us have ever seen on a motorcycle, and he certainly has championship potential every season," Majkrzak said. "The fans love him. He always gets some of the loudest cheers during rider intros.

"What most people probably don't know about Kevin is the positive influence he has on our younger riders. He's the one that shows them not only how to compete and excel at this level, but how to be a good person, respect the other riders, take care of your sponsors, and stay true to yourself. He's an exceptional representative of our team and we plan on having him on our team until he decides to hang up his boots."

DAVID VUILLEMIN STEPS IN TO LEAD MOTOCONCEPTS RACING TO THE TOP

DAVID VUILLEMIN STEPS IN TO LEAD MOTOCONCEPTS RACING TO THE TOP

9/30/2010

Temecula, CA.  MotoConcepts Racing is pleased to announce the appointment of David Vuillemin as Team Manager.  The legendary and talented Mr. Vuillemin, who answers to both “DV” and “The Cobra” as nicknames, has been hired to ensure that MotoConcepts Racing fulfills its mission to be the standard by which Motocross and Supercross race teams are measured.

After two years of deep involvement, careful observation, and critical analysis of Supercross/Motocross racing by Team Owner Mike Genova, the missing piece to MotoConcepts Racing became clear: The team needed a Team Manager/Coach that can help the riders achieve their greatness on the track while nurturing these successes by developing race bikes that are expertly tested and tuned.  MotoConcepts Racing is confident that the famous French-American former World Champion is the right man for the job.

Said Mike Genova, Team Owner and Entrepreneur, “DV knows exactly what it takes to win; he’s proven that on the track, without a doubt.  David is also renowned for being able to set up and fine-tune the machinery to perfection.  These attributes, plus his intelligence, sincere manner, and his fan and rider-friendly charisma, made the decision to hire him a no-brainer.”

David wanted to relay these thoughts to the riders, industry, and fans of the sport, “This is my opportunity to make a positive impact on MotoConcepts Racing and the sport in general.  I am really excited to be on the other side of the fence in this new challenge and put to use what I've learned from the best in the business like Keith McCarty, Roger DeCoster, and Jim Perry.  My goal is to give the riders the best bike I can and help them improve in their riding to take the team to the next level.”

Follow the ascent of MotoConcepts Racing at www.MotoConceptsRacing.com and the adventures of David Vuillemin at www.DV12.blogspot.com

See you’all at the races!!!
