KENNESAW, GA. (Feb. 22, 2016) – Alexander Nagy has been making advancements week after week as substitute rider on the Team MicroBilt/PRBC Suzuki RM-Z450 in Monster Energy AMA Supercross. It was almost inevitable in the high-risk and frenzied world of Supercross racing that there would be a tough weekend or two. At AT&T Stadium on Saturday, in Arlington, Texas, the law of averages caught up with the team and Nagy experienced his first sub-par performance of the season.

TOUGH OUTING IN ARLINGTON FOR NAGY AND TEAM MICROBILT/PRBC SUZUKI
Nagy was able to qualify for the evening program, putting the Team MicroBilt/PRBC Suzuki in front of 57,755 fans in three qualifying races at AT&T Stadium, but Nagy’s 32nd place in timed qualifying was further down the charts than he was used to. On the bright side, Nagy was at least able to improve his times in his qualifying session by over a second from the first timed session.
Nagy’s heat race went off normally, but then a mechanical gremlin set him back.

“I qualified into the night show without much of a problem,” Nagy explained. “The heat race went well and then after that it just kind of went all downhill from there. I struggled with a lot of stuff in the semi. For some reason my rear brake didn’t work on the first lap, so I faded back pretty bad. I tried to regroup for the LCQ and couldn’t put it together.

“It was a pretty tough night. Definitely not one of my better rounds, but I’m looking forward to making Atlanta a lot better. My goal is to regroup from a tough weekend here in Dallas and improve on where I left off at in San Diego. To keep getting better and better single digit finishes in the LCQ.”
Lead MicroBilt/PRBC Suzuki 450 rider Ronnie Stewart continues to rehab from his pre-season testing injuries. Nagy’s contract as fill-in rider for the team has been extended through the Daytona round.

The upcoming round in Atlanta will be an exciting weekend. It’s the opening round the 250 East Region Supercross Series and Vicki Golden is preparing for the start of that series, which kicks off this coming weekend, on Feb. 27 at the Georgia Dome. She’ll be making her riding debut with the team.

Look for the Team MicroBilt/PRBC Suzuki squad next Saturday as the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season hits the halfway point with the championship's annual visit to Atlanta's Georgia Dome. The race can be watched live on Fox Sport 1 starting at 7:00 pm Eastern.
