Ryan Dungey has increased his lead in the AMA/ FIM Supercross to 24 points after taking the win at Saturday night’s 11th round in Dallas, Texas.

The Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider led from lap one of the 20-lap Main Event at the brand-new Cowboys Stadium in front of 49,000 fans to beat Honda’s Davi Millsaps by 1.3 seconds.

“It was awesome,” said Dungey said after his win. “Everyone did a great job and we made some good changes and things were clicking right away and I was really happy with that. I put together a good heat, and when I got to the Main Event I was just trying to get out front. When I got in the lead, I just tried to put in consistent laps. Around the whole track, my RM-Z450 was working great and the Dunlop tyres did a great job.”

Team Manager Roger DeCoster was happy with Dungey’s entire day of racing from practice to podium. He said: “The last two weeks, Ryan was really conservative, and when you’re in the points lead, that’s kind of the tendency. You have a points lead to protect, and the other guy has no choice but to try to reel you in. But there’s a fine line between being conservative and aggressive enough.”
Dungey made some key passes at the start of the race that set him up for the win; his fourth of the 2010 season.

In the Eastern Regional Lites class, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Austin Stroupe was also setting himself up for a great night: Stroupe was the second fastest after qualifying practice, and he went on to win his heat race. He was consistent and smooth on the track going into the Main Event, where he shot out of the gate and was approaching the holeshot when a number of racers failed to negotiate the first turn and took out many riders. Stroupe got caught in the tangle and went down, suffering a mild concussion, but he managed to put together a strong effort despite his injury and finished in fifth, gaining two points on the series leader.

“There was a lot of bad luck for Stroupe,” said DeCoster. “It’s a shame that we didn’t win tonight because Austin was looking like he was the fastest guy out there. But it’s awesome that our support team, the Rockstar Energy Suzuki team, took the win. I’m really happy for Blake Baggett and Bill Keefe. It’s pretty awesome. He did a good job and got a little bit lucky, but he kept it together at the end and ran a smart race.”

The series moves to Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday, March 27.

NO FEAR MX ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF THE FIRST NO FEAR MOTOCROSS GOGGLE, THE RUSH

The Rush will debut on March 8^th, 2010 at Pala Raceway

Carlsbad, CA (March 2, 2010) – No Fear MX, Inc. announced today the introduction of the first No Fear motocross goggle, dubbed the Rush.

No Fear is approaching 20 years of motocross experience driven by passion, proving the delivery of the Rush MX goggle is long overdue.  The Rush has been tested by many of the elite in the motocross world, including No Fear’s Jason Lawrence, who greatly influenced the Rush goggle development into a steadfast dirt goggle.  The Rush has proven to be not only protective to the eyes, but also delivers an extremely comfortable face forming-fit while on the pipe, in the ruts and out at the desert.

The Rush will be unveiled to the media and VIP’s during an invite-only event on March 8^th, 2010 at the No Fear MX sponsored Pala Raceway, located in Pala, CA.  During the event, media, retailers, and VIP will have the opportunity to ride and test the product at the track, enjoy No Fear Energy drinks and a lunch on the house.  Same day at noon, the track will open to the public where the public will have the chance to demo the Rush goggle. No Fear’s Jason Lawrence, one of the Rush’s first team athletes, will be at the track riding, enjoying complementary food and drinks and most importantly, ready for media interviews. No Fear’s Tommy Searle and Team Hostility will also be at the track.

In addition to the ride day, No Fear MX, Inc. has teamed up with Transworld MX offering the chance to win a Jason Lawrence signed No Fear Rush goggle for five lucky entrants.  Five pairs of goggles will be awarded to five entrants who post a photo of themselves wearing No Fear MX gear or apparel, along with a creative caption, in the USER GENERATED PHOTOS section on www.transworldMX.com.  The editors will choose their favorite five photos April Fool’s Day, 2010 and post the winners on the homepage.

Yamaha Announces 2010 Race Teams

Cypress California, Dec 18, 2009 –Yamaha Motor Corporation is proud to announce our largest ever contingent of Supercross/Motocross race teams for the 2010 season, this after a highly successful 2009 season, which saw San Manuel Yamaha’s James Stewart pilot his 2009 YZ450F to the prestigious 2009 FIM World Supercross title.
Team L&M and San Manuel Yamaha will once again have Stewart at the helm pursuing his third Supercross Championship. With a successful off-season and the all new 2010 YZ450F at his disposal, James is looking forward to making this season a most memorable one. James’ teammate at San Manuel Yamaha will be Josh Hill. A product of Yamaha’s amateur program, Josh has already proven himself as a threat to win main events after his maiden victory at Minneapolis in 2008. Josh returns fit and is ready for a fresh start and the opportunity to return to his rightful place on the podium.
Joe Gibbs Racing/Muscle Milk/Toyota team has 2009 Anaheim 1 winner Josh Grant returning for his sophomore season in the premier Supercross class. The surprise of 2009 with his solid performances both indoors and outdoors, Josh made the transition from the Lites class look easy. Joining him is newcomer to the team Justin Brayton. Winning the final AMA National moto of the year was a true breakthrough for Justin and combined with his impressive off-season performances, Justin starts out the 2010 Season ready for action.
DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing continues to be Yamaha’s official Lites team and with the new 2010 YZ250F, the team is ready for a successful season. During the off-season Star Racing made quite a few impressive rider acquisitions, hiring Nico Izzi, Martin Davalos and Max Anstie. Returning is team captain Broc Tickle who had his best season ever in 2009. Currently Tickle and Izzi are set to ride the West Coast rounds and Davalos and Anstie the East Coast rounds.
MotoConcepts Racing is joining the Yamaha Family for 2010. With the leadership of Michael Young as their Team Director and a successful freshman season under their belt, the team is looking to go big in 2010. Led by 450 riders Matt Goerke and Dan Reardon the team is looking to make an impact right off the bat. MotoConcepts will field four Lites riders, with seasoned veterans Ryan Sipes and Jeff Alessi showing the ropes to Vince Friese and Yamaha’s amateur standout Travis Baker. Alessi and Baker are set to race the West Coast rounds and Sipes and Friese the East Coast rounds.
After a very successful outdoor season in 2009, Valli Motorsports team owner Chad Lanza is entering the world of Supercross in a big way for 2010 with the hiring of two-time Supercross Lites Champion and 2005 AMA Lites National Champion Ivan Tedesco to be their premier class rider. With a wealth of experience, Tedesco is the perfect guy to put the Valli Motorsports 2010 YZ450F on the podium on a weekly basis. Joining Ivan is rookie standout Kyle Regal who had some inspiring rides during the outdoor season with Valli Motorsports. Fresh out of the amateur ranks, Kyle’s entering his freshman season in Supercross, set to ride the West Coast rounds on the YZ250F and will be switching to the YZ450F for the outdoors.
Finally, former 125 AMA National Champion, 450 AMA National Champion and two-time Lites Supercross Champion Grant Langston will be returning to action in 2010 after embarking on a partnership with the JLaw/ampm/Boost Mobile Racing team. A fan favorite, Langston has battled back from a serious eye issue that almost had him retiring prematurely. Langston will be joined by another fan favorite and former West Coast Lites Champion, Jason Lawrence. Rounding out the team will be Sean Hamblin and Ryan Newton.
Riding Yamaha’s would be enough for riders like James Stewart, Nico Izzi, Ivan Tedesco and their teams to have a competitive advantage, but they also choose to outfit their race bikes with Yamaha’s exclusive line of GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) engine performance and functional products and Yamalube’s range of high performance lubricants.
“Unfortunately, there are only three positions on the podium!”, said Yamaha’s Racing Division Manager, Keith McCarty. “We have established strong new partnerships with some of the best and brightest Teams for the 2010 season and we look for Yamaha along with our in-house partners Yamalube, and GYTR to be the brands of choice!”

Veteran motocrosser Nick Wey led the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team at his hometown track – Buchanan, Mich.’s RedBud – this past weekend, recording two top ten moto finishes for 9th place overall in the premier 450 class, round six of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA MX Nationals tour.

With the effort Wey pulled ahead of Justin Brayton for the tenth and final top ten spot in the overall 450 class standings. Wey leads Brayton 101-99 with six rounds of racing remaining.

“RedBud and that crowd definitely had everyone fired up,” said Wey.
“It’s good coming back home and seeing all my family and friends, so I was pumped that I put to pretty solid motos together and made my second top ten (with High Point, Pa.) of the season. Now we’ve got a week off before Millville (Minn.) and I’m looking forward to continuing the momentum racing there as well.” Note: Wey’s lone career MX National win came at Millville in the 125cc class in ’98.

Putting up another solid moto for Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/ Troy-JLaw Racing’s in the 450 class was team owner Jason “JLaw”
Lawrence. Lawrence was on it in practice, locking down the second- fastest time out of the entire field. He used that to his advantage in the first moto, for a time at least until a cased landing on LaRocco’s Leap and torqued ankle soon after heading into a turn marked the end for Lawrence’s first moto. But the first year 450 outdoor racer would battle back and charge to a 10th place finish in moto two.

“I was bummed about the first moto, but stoked I could come back and race good in the second moto,” said Lawrence. “I’m nowhere close to where I want to be, but finishing that second moto – with my ankle killing me – is something I can build on. Got a week off here and I’m going to ride my brains out getting ready for Millville.”

Also noteworthy is the fact that Lawrence was coming off a gnarly illness last week that had him off his bike for a number of days. Said
Lawrence: “I like racing this place (RedBud) so much that there was no way I was going to sit at home.”

Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing’s rookie 250 class racer, Max Anstie, pulled off a strong second moto comeback of his own, placing 6th in that contest. Unfortunately Anstie didn’t finish the first moto and his 36th/6th put him in 12th place overall – a spot certainly not indicative of the UK racer’s impressive speed at RedBud on Saturday.

Next up for the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team is this the July 18th Spring Creek MX National in Millville, Minn.
