CANADA’S TYLER MEDAGLIA FINISHES 7TH AT ROUND FIVE OF THE ROCKSTAR ENERGY MOTOCROSS NATIONALS

The fifth round of the Rockstar Energy Canadian Motocross Nationals brought riders and fans together again at the notoriously sandy Gopher Dunes track in southern Ontario. According to Husqvarna Motorcycles rider Tyler Medaglia, the sandy conditions make getting a good start paramount; the pressure was on for Tyler to put his Husqvarna FC350 out front right off the gate.

Being one of the few veterans on the Canadian circuit comes with its unique challenges and perks. It may arguably take more work to maintain a certain level of speed and fitness, but having the years of experience and the calm and collected mentality of a veteran is a definite advantage.
When the gate dropped for the first Moto, Tyler took his FC350 towards the front of his class in the first corner but unfortunately had his front end slide out causing him to drop from the front of the pack to the back. Being faced with this adversity Tyler’s experience shined through as he calmly and confidently worked his way through the majority of the field up to 8th place.

Moto 2 would find Tyler battling up front for half of the race and falling back slightly after a small mistake to finish in a respectable and solid 7th place during the moto and overall.

Tyler Medaglia: “It went well, I was going for the holeshot in Moto 1 and I came into the first corner really close to 1st place but I slid out. I came from last place up to 8th place, it felt good. In Moto 2 I spun out a bit but had a decent start and battled up front for half the race. I made a small mistake and fell back a bit and then rode most of the race by myself.”

The next stop on the Canadian circuit is July 17th in Ulverton Quebec, which is one step closer to reaching Tyler’s hometown of Truro Nova Scotia on July 24th where he will no doubt enjoy racing in front of not only his National fans, but his local fans and entire family.
