ROUND 2 OF THE XTREME MOTOCROSS SERIES HEATS UP LONG ISLAND!

The new Xtreme Motocross Series (XMS) got off to a great start for the first round in New York at the Walden Playboys Motocross Club and a great turnout, rider giveaways, onsite MXSponsor.com kiosk and close racing was enjoyed by all who attended.
Riders in all classes ranging from Pee-Wees to local Experts all showed up to collect a piece of the biggest purse in AMA District 34 that weekend with over $5000 up for grabs...and that made it serious business for the experts who included hotshots Robbie Marshall and Jay Weller, who was recently featured in Throttler Magazine.
A full gate defined many of the classes and it was furious racing all day from the time the first gate dropped. "We're trying to make our new XMS series different with something for everyone!" Said James Slaughter, head of the XMS. "The riders and families put out so much to be here, we want to try to give something back to them. We love this sport and we want to thank everyone who attended and has helped XMS enjoy such a great start. All the hard work by the Walden Playboys was outstanding and we applaud them as well." Crush Grafix Racing riders clinch five out of six podium positions at ESMRA round 2, Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ.

CGR’s Travis Oswald battled with Neal Olree for the majority of the Lites final with Oswald finishing second.

Crush Grafix Racing rider and 2009 Premiere points champion Boyd Brower secured his second win of the season at Englishtown. Teammate Kevin Hudasko, finished a close second to Brower in his Premiere class debut.

Teammates Brower, Oswald, and Hudasko were first, second, and third for a quarter of the Unlimited class final. Brower opened up a commanding lead and finished on the top spot of the podium joined by teammate Oswald in third. CGR’s Kevin Hudasko finished a respectable fifth.

Press Release For Immediate Release Ocean County Powersports Announces OCP Racing Great Start to the Racing Season Toms River, NJ - 3/23/10 - Team Ocean County Powersports racing celebrated a successful start to the 2010 motocross  racing season at Old Bridge Townships Raceway Park in Englishtown NJ this past weekend. After the initail opening weekend was postponed due to rain this weekend's Loretta Lynn's Area Qualifier became the new opening day race. Several team members were top competitors in their respective classes.   Expert class racing   Courtesy Lukaitis Photos New OCP team member and rookie Expert racer Frankie Lettieri showed that he would be a force this season by jumping out to the lead early in all of his weekends races. The young racer from Brick NJ took three third place overall and one fifth place overall finish in his 4 classes. The East Brunswick NJ native's 1-4 and 1-2 moto finishes were good for second overall in both the 250 and 450 "C" classes in Saturday's racing while on Sunday Adam won 3 of the 4 motos he entered. A poor start in the second 250C moto on Sunday relegated him to 11th thus ruining his otherwise perfect afternoon. Adam won the other 3 motos on the day and was the overall winner of the 450C class.   Mini Class Racing   Courtesy Lukaitis Photo In mini bike racing Honda mounted Richie Trevelise was able to put his 4-stroke CRF150R into the top 5 in 3 out of 4 of his motos. Orange County, New York may be famous for it's American Choppers, but there's a new kid in town, the Xtreme Motocross Series. In its first year of operation, the Xtreme Motocross Series has secured 4 exciting tracks with a total of 7 events. The first of these events will be held at Walden Motocross in Wallkill, NY on April 18th.
What's in it for the riders?
What makes the Xtreme Motocross Series so different is that we XMS uses the most technologically advanced online sign up and scoring systems. We then integrate that with advanced technology on the XMS website to allow riders the ability to see their lap times in near real-time, thereby enhancing the general riding experience. XMS also utilizes hi-tech video and still photography at all of our events to ensure the maximum media exposure for the riders and their sponsors.
Yes, both riders and sponsors benefit from these features as it adds weight to their individual and/or team marketing programs. Web 2.0 social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter are integrated on our website so riders can spread the word about their riding results and the sponsor items they used to achieve them.

Lafferty Wins Alligator Enduro

Michael Lafferty gave Husaberg their first-ever national Enduro win with a come-from-behind victory at the 60^th running of the Alligator Enduro in Daytona Beach, Florida – round three of the Rekluse/AMA National Enduro Series.

The Alligator Enduro has the reputation of being one of the toughest events on the national schedule and this year’s edition carried on that tradition. Flooding in the low-lying areas due to a very wet February forced some sections of the course to be thrown out, and organizers eventually shortened the event to 57 miles and five sections.  Of course, the wet nature of the trail made for some spectacular mud holes, and added to the difficulty of the event for the 500 participants on hand. Ultimately, the demanding course played right into Lafferty’s hand.

“I like it when the events are tough,” said Lafferty. “When the trail is real hard and demanding, and it doesn’t flow, and it kind of beats you up a little bit – I kind of like that.”

Lafferty was particularly fast in the fourth section, which is where the nastiest bogs were found. It was here that the New Jersey native gained most of his time, making up about 30 seconds on defending series champ Russell Bobbitt, who at the time was leading the event on his Shock Doctor KTM

The leader in the initial part of the race, however, was former GNCC and World Enduro Champ David Knight, who is in Florida training for the upcoming FIM season. Knighter held a five-second lead over Bobbitt after the opening section and extended that to a nine-second advantage after the second section. However, it all came undone for the Brit at the midway point of the race when his KTM suffered engine problems.

With Knight’s departure from the event, Bobbitt and Lafferty were elevated to first and second, with Bobbitt holding a 29-second advantage over Lafferty after three tests. The fourth section was a game changer for Lafferty, however.

“Up until the fourth section I was thinking a lot. And they told me there was going to be a lot of water in the fourth section, so I just decided to stop thinking and ride the thing,” said Lafferty. “A lot of guys were trying to sneak around the outside of the mud holes and I just went for it and hit the middle lines. Instead of shifting the thing a lot, I just left it in one gear and went straight through it all. It was a big gamble, but it paid off.”

At the finish, Lafferty edged Bobbitt by nine seconds to take the win. Nick Fahringer made it two Husabergs on the podium with a third place finish, matching his best-ever national placing.

Factory KTM rider Brad Bakken finished fourth ahead of 2008 Alligator Enduro winner Wally Palmer, riding the same Kawasaki that he won the ’08 race on. Meanhile, Husqvarna’s Glenn Kearney and GEICO/Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jimmy Jarrett rounded out the top seven.

Obermeyer/Am-Pro Yamaha’s Charile Mullins’ day was done just a mile into the race when he suffered clutch problems after taking a hard fall on the sandy trail. Meanwhile, KTM’s Cory Buttrick, who held the points lead going into the event, elected not to race because of blisters he developed at Tuesday’s GNCC round in Lake Wales, Florida.

With three rounds in the book, Bobbitt now holds the series points lead with 71 points, followed by Lafferty with 69 and Buttrick with 55. Fahringer (52) and Mullins (48) round out the top five.

Travis Flowers Named Husky Dealer Relations Manager
