The Nov. 21^st EnduroCross finals at Vegas’ Orleans may be the greatest indoor off-road field ever assembled – just making the main event will be a victory for some!

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2009) – You’d be hard-pressed to find a more impressive all-star off-road lineup that’s getting set here to boot up for the final round of the 2009 GEICO AMA EnduroCross, presented by E3 Spark Plugs, series at Vegas’ Orleans Arena (Nov. 21^st).

The list of riders scheduled to compete reads like a veritable who’s who of today’s top professional off-road motorcycle pilots. Descending on Vegas from all points of the globe – and led by newly crowned ’09 GEICO AMA EnduroCross champion, KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak – the Orleans Arena contest is just a week-and-a-half away in what should prove to be a thrilling test of man, machine and those insane obstacles set to separate man and machine!

“In the six-year history of GEICO EnduroCross I don’t think we’ve ever assembled a field quite like this,” said Mike Karsting VP of Events for Source Interlink Media. “You’ve got a former AMA Outdoor National champion and current 2009 WORCS champion (Mike Brown/KTM), two former AMA Supercross champions (Damon Huffman/Kawasaki and Ty Davis/Husqvarna), a ten-time U.S. AMA Trials champion (Geoff Aaron/KTM), the current E3 Spark Plugs’ Pro Junior EnduroCross Championship points leader (Colton Haaker/Kawasaki), the defending 2008 GEICO EnduroCross champion (Ricky Dietrich/Kawasaki), a five-time national AMA Hare Scrambles champion (Jason Raines/Yamaha), the five-time AMA Hare & Hound national champion (Destry Abbott/Kawasaki) and a six-time WORCS champion (Justin Soule/KTM).

Coming from overseas and Canada are former FIM Trials champion Graham Jarvis (UK), along with Canadian off-road greats Bobby Prochnau (KTM) and Cory Graffunder (Husqvarna) – who’s currently running 2^nd in the Spark Plugs’ Pro Junior EnduroCross Championship points chase.

“In order to just qualify for the main event you’re going to have to beat a number of champions,” added Karsting.

Working to elevate their names a number of younger racers like Jamie Lanza (Yamaha) and Kyle Redmond (Kawasaki), both of whom are ranked in the top ten overall in points – and top five in points out of the 16-to-21-year olds.

And, if the aforementioned racers weren’t enough, word on the trails is that 2007 GEICO EnduroCross champ, two-time GNCC champ and multi-time FIM Enduro champ David Knight (KTM) is planning on racing the final GEICO EnduroCross round. If he does, Knight would have a shot at wrecking the $50,000 payday Blazusiak has set himself up to win by taking the first two (of three) rounds of the GEICO Triple Crown of EnduroCross! Note: This would be a MAJOR payback for the 2007 GEICO Triple Crown where Blazusiak came in won the third round after Knight had won the first two!

2010 AMA National Motocross Numbers

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- In partnership with Feld Motor Sports and MX Sports Pro Racing, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced the 2010 national numbers for pro-licensed riders in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, and the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
National numbers in the disciplines of Supercross and Motocross are assigned by the following process:
No. 1: The current series champion must run the No. 1 plate in that series.
Nos. 2-9: A champion from the previous competition year may choose a permanent single-digit number if available, with the exception of No. 4. The AMA has reserved No. 4 for exclusive use by Ricky Carmichael through 2011.
Nos. 10-999: Riders who finish in the top 10 in combined championship points in Supercross, Motocross 250 and Motocross 450 competition in the previous competition year have the option to choose a career national two-digit number, if available. These riders, by their option, may instead select a three-digit national number.
Riders who finish outside the top 10 but in the top 100 in combined championship points in Supercross, Motocross 250 and Motocross 450 competition in the previous year will be assigned consecutive two-digit numbers from the available supply until that supply is exhausted.
A comparison of riders' best moto finishes breaks a tie, unless one of those riders competed in only one discipline. In the case of a tie between a rider who rode one discipline (e.g., Supercross) and a rider who rode both disciplines, the tie is broken in favor of the rider who rode both series.
A rider who fails to earn at least one championship point during the season preceding the current season will lose his or her career number and be issued a new number based on current points. Special consideration is given to a rider if an injury impeded participation the previous year.
Note: Lower three-digit competition numbers (e.g., 100-125) are traditionally held for past or current champions from non-U.S. series who participate in a Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, or a Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross event.

(October 28, 2009) - Feld Motor SportsSM announced today Monster Energy® Supercross, an FIM World Championship, will partner with Komen For The Cure to host the first-ever breast cancer awareness race at Anaheim's Angel Stadium Saturday, February 13. Contributions will go to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure 60-mile walk.

Monster Energy® Supercross will undergo a "pink" theme during its stop at Anaheim's Angel Stadium. The excitement of this event has riders, industry reps, press and staff displaying pink in support of this special event.  Fans are encouraged to join the fight and wear something pink to the Anaheim event.

Kurt Nicoll leaves KTM

Murrieta, CA – KTM Motorsports extends its deepest gratitude to Kurt Nicoll as he transitions from his 11-year role as Racing Director for KTM to a new position as COO at Godfrey Entertainment, Inc.

Nicoll began his career with KTM in 1984 as a professional motocross racer. Nicoll raced aboard his KTM as a member of the factory team for 8 years in the World Championship Motocross Series. Nicoll’s extensive accomplishments as a racer made him the perfect choice for KTM’s Director of Racing when he neared retirement in 1998.

Nicoll has worked hand in hand with many great riders throughout his time at KTM and has helped the company grow its Motorsports effort through his experience and vast knowledge of the sport. “Kurt has always been the perfect fit for this position. His skills and understanding as a past rider helped him bond with the racers. His wild side was also well known as he was always the first to celebrate and provide entertainment which I feel will make warmly accepted at his new line of work,” remarked KTM President Jon-Erik Burleson. “We sincerely thank Kurt for his service and look forward to working with him on future business opportunities.”

Antti Kallonen will remain as KTM’s Off-Road Team Manager while Casey Lytle will takeover operational duties as KTM’s Motocross Team Manager. Lytle raced professionally as a Supercross and Motocross rider from 1996-2004. From 2006-07, Lytle served as team manager of the Red Bull/KTM Motocross/Supercross Team before transitioning back to the R&D department and eventually to a position as the West Coast Customer Service Manager. “Casey has been a great asset to KTM in every department he has worked and I am confident that will continue as he makes the move back into the racing department,” stated Burleson.

While Nicoll transitions to his new role at Godfrey Entertainment, Inc. fans will continue to see him at the track aboard his KTM motorcycle as he carries on his racing endeavors.

Chad Reed 2009 Champion

Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Chad Reed clinched the 2009 AMA Motocross Championship with two rounds remaining at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, Maryland.

The rainy weekend saw the two-time AMA Supercross Champion capture the overall victory with second- and first-placed moto finishes. En-route to his first-ever AMA Motocross Championship, Reed has picked up five overall wins so far this season.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki team mate Michael Byrne finished up with a sixth-placed finish overall. Australian Byrne had a rough first moto, charging hard from around 15th place to sixth. Then, in the second moto, he brought home a fifth-place finish with the final result being the sixth-placed overall at Budds Creek.

In the 250 class, Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey battled flooding conditions in an abbreviated second moto before celebrating a third-place finish overall at Budds Creek. Dungey captured a third-place finish in the first moto and then went back out in the pouring rain for the second moto. The second moto as red-flagged after just 25 minutes because of the inclement weather. Dungey had moved into fourth place before the red flag and the combined moto results put him on the podium with third place overall.

Chad Reed:

"I feel like my career is complete, though I also feel like I have a lot of fight left in me but this is definitely a step in the right direction. In the first moto, I was pretty disappointed that I didn't put myself in a position to win. Winning the Championship is what this hard work is all about and I want to thank everybody at the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team because everybody did a great job. We were a last-minute entry and we gave it our all. We are all very, very happy to get this championship."

Michael Byrne:

"It was an OK race for me. I felt like I rode good, but I just didn't get the starts that I needed. In the first moto, I didn't go down but I got caught up in the first corner mess and that kind of ruined my start. Then, I just took too long to get going. I tried to make up time and pass people, but it was too little, too late. But overall I felt good at the end of both motos, I'm happy Chad got the Championship wrapped up -- I'm pumped for him and it's good for team -- and hopefully I can get a win before the end of the year."

Ryan Dungey:

"With the rain and the flooding, this was a crazy race but the fans made it all worthwhile. I had a pretty good first moto and got up on the podium. But then in the second moto I saw the water coming over the dams and onto the track. I lost my brakes -- it was just survival out there. But these things happen and you just have to take it one race at a time. I'm just happy to get out of here safe and healthy."

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing will race next at Moto-X338 in Southwick, Massachusetts, on Saturday, August 29.

Dungey, Weimer, Tedesco for 2009 MXoN

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce the members of AMA Team USA for the 2009 Motocross of Nations. Ivan Tedesco, Ryan Dungey and Jake Weimer will race for American pride as AMA Team USA goes for its 20th Motocross of Nations victory at the Autodromo Daniel Bonara in Franciacorta, Italy, this Oct. 4-5.

"We're thrilled with the talent on AMA Team USA this year," said AMA Director of Racing Joe Bromley. "Sharp and ready thanks to a summer of doing battle in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships, these riders are performing at the peak of their abilities, and we're honored that they have agreed to represent the United States and the AMA at this prestigious event."

Said AMA Team USA Manager Roger DeCoster: "We feel confident that we have the right three riders for Team USA. This is one of those years when it's not easy to pick the team. At the start, it seemed pretty obvious, but then came injuries. We spent a lot of time talking among the AMA, with Davey Coombs of MX Sports, and even Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart weighed in on the final choice. With the support we have in place, we feel these three riders can do the job."

Dungey will race the MX1 class, which features 450cc four-stroke machinery. Weimer will compete in the MX2 class, which features 250cc four-stroke motorcycles. Tedesco will race the MX3 class, the open class.
Ivan Tedesco, who races for Honda Red Bull Racing, also rode for AMA Team USA when it won the Motocross of Nations in 2005 and 2006. Tedesco is currently fourth in points in the 450 class in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships.

Tedesco is no stranger to MXoN. He raced the MX3 division in 2006 (shown) when the Americans took home the Chamberlain Trophy.

"It's an absolute honor to be chosen to be a part of Team USA to represent America at the 2009 MX of Nations," Tedesco said. "Having the opportunity to represent your country on the world stage and race against some of the best motocross racers from countries right across the globe is something every rider can only ever dream of doing. I couldn't be happier to have this opportunity again in 2009.

"This will be my third time racing for Team USA,'' Tedesco added. "I'm definitely going to draw strength from my previous experiences racing at this international level to help Team USA win."

Ryan Dungey, who races for Rockstar Makita Suzuki, will be competing on AMA Team USA for the first time in his career. Dungey is currently tied for the lead in the 250 class in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships.
Said Dungey: "Getting invited to represent the USA for this year's Motocross of Nations is literally a dream come true. Ever since I was a little guy growing up in Minnesota, I have dreamed of one day representing my country for our team. I think with Ivan and Jake, we'll have a really strong team, and I'm looking forward to making my outdoor debut on an RMZ450. After the outdoor season wraps up, I'll probably head out to California and begin testing with our Rockstar Makita Suzuki team to get things dialed in."

Jake Weimer is another first-timer. His Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki KX250F will compete in the MX2 division.

This also will be the first time on AMA Team USA for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Jake Weimer. Weimer is coming off a solid AMA Supercross season where he finished second in Supercross Lites West behind Dungey. He is currently fifth in points in the 250 class in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships.

"It's a huge privilege to represent the USA and be a part of the Motocross of Nations," Weimer said. "I'm super excited about this. I've been to Italy to race a Supercross in 2007, so it will be cool to go back and race for Team USA. Growing up and watching the Motocross of Nations and seeing it on video, it's such an honor to be picked. This is definitely something that I think every kid racing would want to be a part of."

The Motocross of Nations is one of the most prestigious motocross races in the world. It features national teams competing for a combined score to determine the overall championship-winning team. The event emerged in post-war Europe in 1947 and has run uninterrupted since. The United States is the all-time leader in Motocross of Nations overall victories with 19. Great Britain is second with 16.

The area of Franciacorta is between the city of Brescia, Lake Iseo and the border with the Pianura Padana. Brescia is the closest large city to the track and also boasts some motorsports history, as it played host to the first automobile GP in Italy and the historic Mille Miglia. The last time the Motocross of Nations ran on Italian soil was at Maggiora in 1986.

Suzuki City Now Accepting Resumes Riders Wanted for the 2010 Motocross, Supercross, & ATV MX Racing Season

Biloxi, MS- Biloxi Mississippi’s Suzuki City is now accepting resumes for the 2010 season. AURORA, Ill. - Feld Motor Sports announced today GEICO Powersports' Honda's Kevin Windham, of Centerville, Miss., will compete at this year's Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open inside Las Vegas' MGM Grand garden Arena October 9-11.

Windham has enjoyed success at the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open in the past having finished as high as second place in both 2000 and 2005. At his five Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open appearances, he's only finished outside the top three once ('06: 3rd; '05: 2nd; '01: 3rd; '00: 2nd; '99: 7th). At his last Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open in 2006, he used his 3-4 finishes for third overall.

In 1994 Windham began his professional career and earned the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class championship in 1996, winning six races on the season. In AMA Supercross competition, Windham has finished in the runner-up position three times, '08, '04 and '03.

A full entertainment lineup has been set for the Air Nautiques/AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN. The week-long event, held from Sunday August 2nd to Saturday, the 8th, is known as the "World's Greatest Motocross Vacation" due to its combination of racing action on the track and family-friendly entertainment off of it. This year's event boasts entertainment from lives bands, freestyle motocross shows and even a Guitar Hero championship to go along with traditions such as the talent and fashion show.

The Air Nautiques/AMA Amateur National from Loretta Lynn Ranch presented by Amsoil will return to Versus Network on Thursday, September 24th with extensive coverage of the world's biggest motocross race.

Racer TV on VERSUS will air the Air Nautiques/AMA Amateur National from Loretta Lynn Ranch on Thursday, September 24th at 4:00 p.m. EST.

This year's show will air in HD, produced by the same crew that puts together the highly regarded Racer TV program covering the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series.

"It's not easy to develop a television package that encompasses the entire event at the Ranch," said Event Director Tim Cotter. "Future pro superstars are a big part, but we also showcase the lifers in amateur racing, as well as all the fun activities from around the ranch. We've had quite a few celebrities show up, too. Thor/Parts Unlimited Motocross Week in Review: RedBud

The Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship season reached the halfway point with a July 4th celebration at RedBud that mirrored the event at Thunder Valley the week before for the Thor/Parts Unlimited team.

Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki's Chad Reed earned another podium by winning the first moto and finishing second overall and has a comfortable 21-point lead in the 450 Class to enjoy during next week's break in the schedule.

Jake Weimer became the first 250 Class rider to claim back-to-back overall wins and teamed with points leader Christophe Pourcel to give Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki a 1-2 finish at RedBud and overall victories in the first two legs of the Monster Energy Triple Crown of Motocross.

NBC Helped Celebrate the 4th
Slightly overcast skies and spring-like temperatures greeted the riders and fans at RedBud for the Independence Day program and NBC was on hand to broadcast the action nationally. The network did its usual excellent job, framing its live telecast of the second 450 moto with highlights of the other motos and a variety of features and profiles.

It was the second of the three live telecasts the network is scheduled to do this season. The third will be from Budds Creek, Md., on Aug. 22. So far this season, the NBC shows have provided good fortune for the Thor/Parts Unlimited team, capturing wins on each occasion.

Australian Star Pays Homage to the U.S.A.
Chad Reed is Australian, but he lives in Florida and saluted his adopted country on the 4th of July at RedBud with patriotic red, white and blue gear that was emblazoned with the words "living the dream," which is Reed's personal slogan.

Mr. Consistency Pads Points Lead
Reed got the holeshot to start the first 30 minutes plus 2 laps moto, but early on lost the top spot to Andrew Short, who opened a comfortable lead before Reed regrouped and began to close the gap. The two-time Supercross champion reclaimed the lead from Short on lap 11 of 15 and held off the charge of Josh Grant for the win. Reed and Ivan Tedesco waged a long and exciting battle for second in moto two, with Tedesco finishing just inches in front of the Australian as Grant took the moto win and overall honors with Reed holding down the runner-up spot.

Two in a Row from Idaho
Jake Weimer continued to atone for his non-scoring outing at High Point by annexing his second straight overall victory for the Pro Circuit Kawasaki team. The Idaho resident said before the race that he liked racing at RedBud because he considers it a rider's track and added, "Hopefully the momentum I built from last week will carry over."

That seemed to be the case on a somewhat chaotic day for the 250 Class riders. Weimer got the holeshot in moto one, in the process avoiding a large pileup in the first turn, and kept the pressure on Ryan Dungey while finishing second. In the second moto, Weimer had to work his way through some traffic, but did so with the knowledge that Dungey had crashed and rode a smart race to finish fourth and grab first overall. The finish moved Weimer from 10th to 7th in the standings.

Pourcel Battles Back
Pro Circuit's Christophe Pourcel failed to win the opening moto for the first time this season, placing eighth, but was lucky to finish at all after being unseated in a first turn melee and falling again later in the moto. The Frenchman came back to win the second moto and was one of four riders tied for second with 38 points. Pourcel got the spot based on his second moto finish and maintained his 9-point lead over first moto winner Dungey.

A Season of Promise Turns to Heartbreak
The afternoon came to a premature end for Tyla Rattray, the third member of the Pro Circuit team. The South African rider continued his solid riding with a sixth in the opening moto and looked to be on his way to yet another consistent effort. However, he crashed at the start of the second moto and was unable to finish. He also emerged from the incident with a broken thumb and fell from third to fifth in the standings after finishing 13th overall.

Thor's International Stars Carry Red Plates into the Final Six
With six of the 12 rounds of the Pro Motocross Championship in the books, Chad Reed has to be feeling good about his chances of winning his first 450 class title. No stranger to being out front, the Australian star has one overall victory along with three moto wins and has built a 21-point lead over Short. Fellow Honda rider Tedesco is third, 40 points behind, and the advantage he holds over his two main rivals means Reed can concentrate on consistent finishes and avoid unnecessary risks.

Christophe Pourcel's advantage may not be as comfortable, but the rookie has proven that regardless of what happens on the track, his nerves are never shaken. Despite seven moto wins, he sits just 9 points in front of Suzuki's Dungey in what has become a two-man battle. Pourcel has the added pressure of being unfamiliar with any of the tracks on the schedule, but that hasn't seemed to be a problem for him thus far.

The Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship takes a week off before returning to action on July 18 from Spring Creek Motocross Park in Millville, Minn., kicking-off the second half of 2009.
