Riders Challenge and Conquer the Infamous Widowmaker at Round 2 of the Rockwell Time Pro Hill Climb Series!


SALT LAKE CITY, UT (July 1, 2010) Riders came from all over the United States to take on the formidable Widowmaker climb this past weekend for Round 2 of the Rockwell Time Professional Hill Climb Series in Croydon, Utah. Matt Coleman, hailing from Laurel, Montana and riding a heavily modified FJ-1200, came out on top and claimed the title of the 2010 Widowmaker Champion. Petey Krunich, riding a Bandit 1200, would finish 2nd overall and Corey Erhardt, on board a KX-1000, rounded out the podium in the 3rd position. Rockwell Time Team rider Brandon Whitlock from Santaquin, Utah was one of only three riders to top the 1,000 plus vertical feet Champion Hill in the 701-Open Exhibition Class on his KZ-1500. Unfortunately a mistake in the 0-700 Exhibition would regulate Whitlock from challenging for the overall. The crowd witnessed some amazing climbs, some horrific crashes, and a stunning aerial performance from the Rockwell Air Time Skydive Team.

“It has been a pleasure for Rockwell to be apart of such a great series and the work put in from Jordy Smith and Darrell Devitt is second to none. We appreciate everything that these two individuals have done to not only grow this series but the sport as well,” exclaimed Rich Eggett of Rockwell Time.

Rockwell Time Race Report: Salt Lake


SALT LAKE CITY, UT (May 3, 2010) Rockwell’s hometown race in Salt Lake this past weekend was a huge success. Even though the weather conditions were not ideal, Rockwell Time rider Jake Weimer wrapped up the 2010 West Coast Lites Championship. After winning the first Lites heat, Weimer charged into the main and finished fifth, giving him enough points to snatch the title. Fellow Rockwell Lites riders Broc Tickle and Cole Seely also put in solid rides at Rice-Eccles stadium. Broc finished the night with a 6th giving him 4th in the series points and Seely finished 11th giving him 7th in the series. Unfortunately, Rockwell rider Jason Potter suffered a pelvis injury during practice after casing the huge triple after the whoops and was not able to race. On a better note, Rockwell wants to recognize Landon Powell for making his first main of the season. Big props go out to Landon as he has been working his tail off the entire series.

As for the 450’s, Rockwell Time rider Davi Millsaps grabbed a heat win and finished second behind Windham in the main. With one race left to run, Millsaps sits 4th in overall points, just 13 points behind the injured Villopoto. Chris Blose battled the muddy conditions and raced his way to a 10th place finish and sits 13th in overall points. Rockwell Time riders Kyle Partridge and Gray Davenport finished 13th and 18th respectively.

Will Weimer take the East-West Shootout? Will Millsaps grab his second win of the season? We’ll find out as the series wraps up next weekend in Las Vegas. Until then, keep rockin’ Rockwell.

Honda Sweeps Salt Lake City SX

Torrance CA: The Honda Red Riders took on round 16 of the 2010 Supercross series in Salt Lake City, UT on Saturday, May 1, and Honda Red Bull Racing’s Davi Millsaps and Andrew Short joined forces with GEICO Powersports Honda’s Kevin Windham to sweep the Supercross podium. Facing grueling, sloppy racing conditions and battling the weather—including everything from rain to hail and even snow in the open stadium—the Honda trio captured the top three spots aboard their Honda CRF450Rs, with Windham claiming his second consecutive Supercross victory.
After winning their heat races, Millsaps and Windham were again fastest out of the start gate in the final and the pair diced for the lead early on. Pulling off a rock-solid block pass on Millsaps to move into the number one spot, Windham set about showcasing his skills in the mud, taking control out front. Just as he did last weekend, the 32-year-old Honda veteran led every lap in the main to claim back-to-back Supercross wins. So dominating was Windham’s victory that he lapped all but three riders in the process. Millsaps settled into the number-two spot for the remainder of the race and finished runner-up. Short put in a solid come-from-behind performance after rounding the opening lap in seventh to pull off his second consecutive third-place finish and complete Honda’s podium sweep.
"To see Honda up here in the top spot again is just great," said Windham. "The GEICO Powersports Honda team did an amazing job and it’s another great night for the team. The track was so rutted and slick, and the conditions were gnarly tonight. We were prepared for a mud race and knew it was going to be tough, but it became especially tough once it started to snow while we lined up on the start line. I’m very grateful to be in the number one spot for the second week in a row."


The final round of the Supercross Lites West competition saw GEICO Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard overcome a mid-pack start as he fought his way forward to finish in second place. Troy Lee Designs Honda’s Wil Hahn put in a gutsy performance to finish in third despite separating his shoulder earlier in the week. Hahn’s teammate Cole Seely struggled in the muddy, dismal conditions to finish in 11th place while GEICO Powersports Honda’s Blake Wharton was 12th. Hahn’s courageous effort resulted in his holding off Canard for the number-two spot in the Lites West championship standings, as Canard finished third overall in points.
"It’s been a tough Lites season for me, full of highs and lows," said Canard. "Last weekend’s 11th-place finish really hurt my position in the series points standings but I have to give it up to Wil (Hahn); he hung in there right until the end. The team did an amazing job, giving me a perfect race bike each and every week, and I can’t thank everyone enough for their support this year."

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 27, 2010) Rockwell Time wants to offer a big congrats to Broc Tickle for taking his first Supercross Lites win this past weekend at Qwest Field in Seattle. Broc battled the adverse track conditions, kept it rubber side down, and finished on the top of the podium. It was a well deserved win and all of us here at Rockwell are very pumped for Broc. Fellow Rockwell Lites riders Jake Weimer and Cole Seely also put in good rides. Weimer, despite going down early in the race, managed to slice his way through the pack and finish a solid third while Seely finished in the 7th spot. Jake Weimer heads into Salt Lake City with a comforting 19 point lead and looks to grab the West Coast Lites title this coming Saturday. Rockwell Team rider Davi Millsaps took the checkers in the second Supercross class heat race and finished 5th in the main. Davi heads into the penultimate round of the Supercross series just 17 points behind Kevin Windham who sits in third overall. Rockstar Energy Suzuki Race Report: Seattle

Seattle, WA – April 26, 2010 – Rockstar Energy Suzuki returned to the West coast in a big way at the AMA Supercross race on Saturday night in Seattle, with 450-class rider Tommy Hahn racing his way to a season-best second-place finish. “It was a great night for me,” said Hahn. “I was feeling really comfortable all day, got in some good practice laps, got a good start in the main, and fought hard all the way through to the end.”

The track conditions were muddy and soft, which lead to some deep ruts and a track surface that was different every lap. While the soft dirt gave many riders trouble, Hahn didn’t struggle on his RM-Z450. “The track was pretty tough, but I like those kinds of conditions,” commented Hahn. “I felt right at home.” The RM-Z’s sharp handling helped Tommy carefully pick the fastest lines through the difficult track, and got great drives down the straights thanks to the powerful engine.

Tommy’s ride also made an impression on Team Manager Bill Keefe, who said, “Tommy rode like he owned it. We’re really proud of his performance in Seattle, and look forward to building on this momentum in Salt Lake!”

The race in Seattle marked the return of the riders Ryan Morais and Hunter Hewitt in the Western Regional Lites class, and both raced hard on the tough track. Morais got off to a strong start in the main, and rode well despite the difficult conditions. “I felt more like I was on an Endurocross track than a Supercross track,” said Morais. “The dirt was super soft and rutted out, but my RM-Z250 had the power to give me the good drives that I needed.” Morais went on to finish just inside the top five, while Hewitt rounded out the top ten.

The next round of the AMA/FIM Supercross championship will take place on May 1 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. Suzuki Supercross fans should head to Suzuki of Salt Lake on Friday night where the Rockstar Energy Suzuki team will be signing autographs from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M.

FMF/KTM Race Report

Seattle, WA – FMF/KTM rider Phil Nicoletti earned 8th overall in his first race aboard the FMF/KTM 250 SX-F race machine.

The wet weather in Seattle narrowed the day’s schedule to one practice session. Each group went out for their practice session by warming up the first few laps and then trying their hardest to put down their fastest lap in the remaining minutes. Nicoletti rolled out of practice with the 16th fastest time of the night. “The track was difficult and very rutted. It was hard to get in a solid lap time in the short practice but if gave us a good taste of what would come for the remainder of the night,” remarked Nicoletti.

Nicoletti was placed in Heat #1. He got out to a good jump but got tangled with a tuff block in the second turn. He managed to stay up but caught the tuff block cover in his wheel and had to pull off and remove the cover. Once back on course, Nicoletti was sitting in dead last and had to make a come from behind charge into the top nine qualifying positions. Nicoletti charged hard and made it back up to 8th to grab a spot on the main event gate.

As the gate dropped for the main event Nicoletti got a good jump on his KTM and came around the first turn within the top ten and made it up to 6th by the second corner. A small mistake caused him to drop to 9th on lap two. He remained in 9th position through the halfway mark of the race. On lap ten he lost a position to Trey Canard but then gained the position back when he caught and passed Hunter Hewitt on lap eleven. One lap later Canard crashed and Nicoletti moved into 8th position. The final two laps were filled with excitement as Nicoletti and Max Anstie battled for 8th position. Anstie was able to get around him on the final lap but went wide in a turn allowing Nicoletti to make the necessary block pass to close for the position. Nicoletti finished 8th overall.

“I am not overly pleased with my result as I hoped to be in the top five. However, considering the conditions of the track, I am happy to finish within the top ten and will work toward improving that result at Salt Lake,” stated Nicoletti.

TLD Lucas Oil Racing Race Report

On what was undoubtedly one of the most brutally demanding supercross tracks ever built, Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda rider Wil Hahn gritted out a second place finish and moved himself to second in the series standings. His teammate, Cole Seely, toughed out a seventh place finish despite a poor start.

Lining up for the main event it was clear that Hahn meant business. His lap times were good and he knew he was prepared to ride at 100% for the entire fifteen laps. The Young rider from Texas was third coming around the first turn but ran into the back of Trey Canard when he fell in turn two. The mishap dropped him to fifth where he would begin an impressive charge towards the front. By the time he moved into second the leader was already several seconds ahead and the margin was too much for Wil to close. Although he wants a win baldly, Hahn rode well and he was proud of that.

"Man, I really felt like tonight was my night to win," He said after the race. Adding, "I know it's coming... I've been working way too hard not to win one of these. I can't take anything away from (Broc) Tickle though; he rode great tonight. He was flying out there. Next week we'll just get back to work and see if we can get a win in Salt Lake City."

Seely was mired in the pack and lost all of his tear-offs early, forcing him to remove his goggles. The race became about survival for him after that point. Cole would soldier on to a seventh but he was visibly disappointed with the way his night went.

"That definitely wasn't how I wanted the night to go," Cole explained. "All night I just felt tight and like I was fighting the bike. When I reached up on the second lap of the main to pull a tear off and I grabbed all of them, I knew I was in trouble. I tried wiping them as long as I could but I couldn't see a thing. I had to throw them and it made it tough to get close to anyone after that. I need to have a good race next weekend to bounce back from this."

The team will now head to Utah for the final round of the west region series. Wil has a five point lead over Canard and he is nineteen points down on Jake Weimer. It is a long shot to win the title but crazier things have happened.

Inaugural Gravity Slashers Freestyle Motocross Tour Schedule and Riders Announced Gravity Defying Freestyle Motocross Contests Coming to an Arena Near You

AURORA, Ill. – Feld Motor Sports announced today the inaugural Gravity Slashers Freestyle Motocross tour, kicking off in Charlotte, N.C. on January 2, 2010 and concluding in Cleveland, Ohio on March 6, 2010. The 15-stop tour will feature some of the world’s best freestyle motocross pros as they attempt to one-up each other with gravity-defying tricks.    

The sport is freestyle motocross and with Gravity Slashing tricks like Cliffhangers, Sterilizers, Tsunamis, and Hart Attacks, fans are sure to be on the edge of their seats all night! These feats may sound like accidents waiting to happen, but in reality, they are some of the most astounding aerial acrobatics you’ll ever see.

In freestyle motocross, the name of the game is “anything goes” in this adrenaline-filled contest staged in mid-air. Riders launch their bikes off ramps that propel them towards the rafters, performing mind-bending acrobatic moves as they soar through the arena airspace. The only way to properly experience this spine-tingling sport is from the very edge of your seat as these daredevils fly high overhead.

After missing last year’s X Games due to a crash at the Red Bull Compound just days before the event, Ashley was on a mission this year. Jessica Patterson took the lead early in the race but could not hold off the hard charging Fiolek and gave up the lead on the last lap. Ashley took the win and put her Honda Red Bull Racing CRF250 on top of the podium. 2010 Supercross Schedule Announced

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and Feld Motor Sports(SM) announced today the schedule for the 2010 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, that begins Jan. 9 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., and concludes May 8 at Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium. Since its beginning in 1974, Monster Energy® Supercross has played in some of the world's largest markets and most prestigious venues, and the 2010, 17-stop season adds to the sport's rich heritage.

"The 2009 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, was arguably the best season of all time, combining parity on the track and drama off the track, and we expect 2010 to build off of that excitement," said Charlie Mancuso, president, Feld Motor Sports. "The championship will continue its rich history at many of the legendary stadiums that have made Monster Energy® Supercross so strong, in addition to the new tour stop at the new state-of-the-art Cowboys Stadium."

The newest addition to the tour will be the inaugural stop at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which is a short drive from the old Texas Stadium. Monster Energy® Supercross held its first race at Texas Stadium in March 1, 1975, with subsequent races through 1977. From 1983-2008, Texas Stadium was one of the marquee stops on the Monster Energy® Supercross schedule. With the establishment of the new Cowboys Stadium, a new area of tradition will be built off of the historic 30 races held in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman added: "AMA Supercross is the premier competition of its kind on the planet. The AMA is pleased to once again be working with the FIM and Feld Motor Sports for the 2010 season to provide the world's stage where the best of the best will battle for championship honors. After a successful 2009 return to Salt Lake City, Monster Energy® Supercross will bring the action back to Rice-Eccles Stadium May 1. With the loyal support and commitment from the Utah Sports Commission, Monster Energy® Supercross will make its sixth stop at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

"After looking at the 2010 AMA Supercross schedule, it's exciting to see where we will be competing at next year," said 2009 Monster Energy® Supercross champion James Stewart. "Most of the events will be similar to last year, but this year we're going to go to the new Cowboys Stadium, and it's the newest and biggest stadium in the United States.
